Indiana snapped No. 2 Louisville’s 15-game winning streak, which had been the longest in the country, with a 4-3 win Tuesday in front of a season-high 3,077 fans at Bart Kaufman Field.

“This was huge,” Indiana coach and former Louisville assistant Chris Lemonis told the Herald Bulletin. “No. 1, I’m sure it will boost our RPI, but at the end of the day when somebody is looking at a piece of paper at who they played and who they beat and who they’ve played well against, we’ve put ourselves out there and it’s paying off.”

Freshman lefthander Andrew Saalfrank got the win by pitching 4.1 innings, but four relievers, including closer Matt Lloyd, combined for 4.2 innings of two-hit ball with seven strikeouts to stifle the Cardinals after Indiana grabbed a 4-0 lead in the second. The loss was Louisville’s first since April 21 against Duke.

Potential No. 1 overall pick Brendan McKay was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts for Louisville.

Hoosiers freshman Matt Gorski had the big hit, a two-run double in the four-run second.

Tyler Baum carried a no-hitter into the sixth as No. 3 North Carolina beat UNC Wilmington 7-2. Brandon Riley homered and Tyler Lynn had three hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Tar Heels (42-10), who have won nine in a row at home.

Clemson was coming off being swept by Louisville, while Coastal Carolina was surging, having won nine of 10. But thanks to Seth Beer, Clemson rallied for a much-needed win.

The Tigers jumped out to a 7-1 lead thanks to homers from Logan Davidson, Reed Rohlman and Weston Jackson, but the defending champs stormed back, grabbing an 8-7 lead in the eighth on Seth Lancaster’s two-run double.

But in the bottom of the inning, Clemson loaded the bases before Beer unloaded them with his 13th homer and first since April 17. Clemson will finish the regular season without a midweek loss.

Top-ranked Oregon State won its ninth game in a row, beating Portland 7-1 behind homers from sophomores Cadyn Grenier and Trevor Larnach.

Two ranked teams lost in an abridged schedule. No. 23 Texas A&M became another victim of midweek monster Sam Houston State, which has won six straight midweek games. Sam Houston got 6.2 strong innings from redshirt junior Dakota Mills in an 8-2 win.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville toppled No. 25 South Florida, scoring three times in the fourth and five times in the fifth and holding on for an 11-9 win. The Dolphins got homers from junior Sam Armstrong and freshman catcher Jacob Southern.
