They begin by discussing the movement at the top of the rankings. For the second week in a row, the defending No. 1 team in the country lost a weekend series. In this case, it was Mississippi, which lost two out of three at home to Central Florida. The Rebels pitched well enough to win the series, but the offensive output was inconsistent and they also just simply caught a UCF team playing with an edge at the wrong time.

That cleared room at No. 1 for Arkansas, which is now 7-0 after sweeping Southeast Missouri State last weekend behind a total team effort on the mound. The roles are very fluid on the Arkansas pitching staff right now, but it’s clear through two weeks that the high-end talent exists on that roster to get outs in the SEC. It’s just a matter of figuring out the best combination of guys.

Teddy and Joe also talk a lot about a wild weekend of ACC action that saw Virginia Tech go on the road and take  a series from Miami, North Carolina win a series with Virginia, Pittsburgh sweep Florida State on the road, Georgia Tech sweep North Carolina State on the road in dominant fashion, Boston College hit the road and win a series at Duke and Notre Dame win a series at Wake Forest in their first action of the 2021 season.

The hosts work through all of those results and try to project what all of this may mean for these teams individually and the ACC race more generally.

Along the way, they also touch on South Carolina winning both games of its shortened rivalry series against Clemson, UC Santa Barbara sweeping a four-game series with Pepperdine and UCLA getting things going back in the right direction with a series win over UC Irvine.
