Blaze Jordan Wins MLB High School Home Run Derby

CLEVELAND — Blaze Jordan, a 16-year-old who reclassified to the 2020 class in May, won the MLB High School Home Run Derby on Monday at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

Jordan, an infielder at DeSoto Central (Southaven, Miss.) High, hit seven home runs, beating fellow 2020 prospect A.J. Vukovich, a third baseman from East Troy (Wis.) High who hit six homers.

The two advanced to the finals after topping the other six participants in the opening rounds of the derby on Sunday, when Jordan hit 20 home runs in two rounds and Vukovich hit 18. Watch the highlights from Jordan’s home run derby performance in the video below.
