Every year, a few of the top high school draft prospects end up making it to school. With a deep draft for high school pitchers, scouts had long suggested that there might be a couple of top prep pitchers in this year’s class who would end up being unable to find a team to meet their asking price. It appears that righthanders Kumar Rocker (No. 13 on the BA500) and Cole Wilcox (No. 37 on the BA500) are two who will try to improve their stock further in the Southeastern Conference.

Rocker posted on Instagram this morning a post that suggests he is quite happy to head to Vanderbilt.

I Want It All… Who Doesn’t. Didn’t Plan On Skipping a Step. #AnchorDown ??

Similarly, Wilcox affirmed that he will be a Georgia Bulldog this fall.

Many of the best available players left among our Top 100 Prospects will hear their names called today, but in the case of high school players, it’s likely that several of these players will now make it to school. Vanderbilt’s recruiting class is especially notable heading into Day 2, as the Commodores currently have five recruits in the Top 100 who have yet to be drafted. Virginia has outfielder Mike Siani in addition to former Top 100 draft prospect righthander Mike Vasil, who pulled his name out of the draft recently.

Here are the best available players according to Baseball America’s rankings heading into day two of the 2018 draft.
