THE LINEUP

Newsmakers from Tuesday’s action:

Teoscar Hernandez, OF, Blue Jays. Hernandez hit two home runs yesterday, continuing a furious September push that should go a ways to solidifying Hernandez a spot in the Blue Jays’ 2018 lineup. Hernandez has now hit five home runs in the past five games. He’s played all three outfield spots for the Blue Jays, showcasing his defensive versatility.

Hunter Renfroe, OF, Padres. Renfroe went 2-for-4 with his 25th home run of the season. Renfroe’s season has been fascinating as he’s shown the expected power, but he’s also struggled to make contact, which has diminished the impact of his home runs.

Jesse Winker, OF, Reds. How crazy are the major leagues these days? Winker hit his seventh home run in 112 big league at-bats. Before that he had hit five home runs in 679 Triple-A at-bats.
