Newsmakers from Sunday's action:
Aaron Judge, OF, Yankees. Judge took a big step toward breaking Mark McGwire's rookie home run record by hitting a pair of home runs on Sunday. With 48 home runs, Judge now needs only one home run in the final week of the season to tie McGwire's record and two to break it.
Rafael Devers, 3B, Red Sox. The Red Sox's decision to promote Devers instead of filling their third base hole on the trade market has paid off handsomely, Devers hit his 10th home run since his July 25th promotion. He's now slashing .303/.358/.513.
Luiz Gohara, LHP, Mariners. Gohara's fourth big league start was his best so far. He allowed only one run while striking out nine in seven innings, but he was saddled with the loss. Now that's he's in the majors, he big lefty is one of the hardest throwing starters in the majors with a fastball that sits between 96-97 mph.
