Each year, following the release of our Top 100 prospects, Baseball America ranks the top prospects in baseball by position. You can find our position-by-position rankings here

Here are the top first base prospects in baseball for 2020.

Best Bat: White Sox 1B Andrew Vaughn was seen as one of the better pure bats to come out of college in recent years. He has the potential to hit for average and power, which is why the White Sox were willing to make him one of the highest-drafted first baseman in draft history.

Best Glove: Mariners 1B Evan White is one of the best defensive first basemen to come through the minors in years. He draws comparisons to Cody Bellinger in his athleticism as a first basemen — like Bellinger he can play in the outfield, but White’s glove has been so good at first base that he’s seen as a bigger weapon there than in the grass.

Sleeper: Braves 1B Bryce Ball has significant power potential, but he has to improve his defense significantly while proving that his contact ability (he’s 6-foot-6 with long levers) will continue against more advanced pitching.
