2017 State Draft Report: New England

Rating compares this year’s group to what a state typically produces, not to other states

It’s a solid but unspectacular year in New England. The region typically has a bona fide first rounder or two; that isn’t the case in 2017. Prep righthander Matt Tabor could come off the board in the top two rounds, with James Karinchak and Donovan Casey expected to go early on day two of the draft.

New England should bounce back in 2018, with a pair of intriguing prep bats in New Hampshire and UConn packing some punch with lefthander Tim Cate, righthander Ronnie Rossomando and catcher Zac Susi.
