2016 State Draft Report: Wyoming

CROP RATING
updated_state_rating_one_star Nothing to see here
Rating compares this year’s group to what a state typically produces, not to other states

Only one player has been taken out of Wyoming since 2007, and that was Brandon Nimmo, taken by the Mets with the 13th overall pick in 2011. The Mets have taken things slow and steady with Nimmo, and he’s now on the cusp of reaching the Major Leagues, hitting over .300 in Triple-A.

In some ways, Nimmo is the exception that proves the rule. He’s the one extraordinary athlete to come out of the state in years, and there is no sign of another Nimmo in sight. There are no pro prospects in Wyoming this year.
