For a state with a number of prominent colleges and that serves as the home of the College World Series, the draft rolls form Nebraska are usually sparser than one might expect.

And that makes this actually a very solid class for the state. Cole Stobbe has a chance to be the highest-drafted high school player from Nebraska this decade. Ryan Boldt and Nicky Lopez gives the state a few other top 10 round options as well.

Cole Gruber, of, Nebraska-Omaha – Gruber, a senior, is a center fielder with a plus run tool who hit well enough (.376) and stole enough bases (43 in 50 attempts) to intrigue scouts as at least a future fourth outfielder.

Clayton Tanner, 3b, Nebraska-Omaha – Tanner, a senior, has power potential and a good frame (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) although scouts do worry about how much feel for the barrel he has.
