2016 State Draft Report: Mississippi

CROP RATING
updated_state_rating_three_star Solid, not spectacular
Rating compares this year’s group to what a state typically produces, not to other states

It’s a solid year in the Magnolia State, thanks largely to the explosive junior season of Mississippi State righthander Dakota Hudson, who has shut down SEC opponents for much of the spring, pitching with a deep arsenal of weapons and showing no fear on the mound.

After Hudson, there is a little bit of a drop-off, but prep first baseman Walker Robbins did have scouting directors in attendance to watch him this spring. There is depth to the state this year, with Mississippi and Mississippi State boasting a number of promising prospects.
