2019 was a decidedly mixed bag for the Royals farm system. 

Kansas City ended 2019 ranked 19th in baseball, its highest position since 2015, following the addition of Bobby Witt Jr. and progress from several key arms in the lower levels of the minors. But several bats in the system failed to live up to preseason expectations, setting the stage for a pivotal 2020 season.
