Zach Kirtley

Kirtley was part of the first recruiting class of Saint Mary's current coaching staff, led by Eric Valenzuela, and he was a regular for the Gaels' 2016 regional team. A three-year starter, Kirtley attracted national attention with a strong Cape Cod League start before tapering off, and his best tool is his hitting ability, as he has a pro approach and good strike-zone judgment. He moved to third base from second base this season but may fit better at second as a pro due to his ability to turn a double play. He's a below-average runner with limited range at either spot but solid-average arm strength.
