Seth McGarry

Injuries limited McGarry to 21 1/3 innings in his first two years at Florida Atlantic, but he has stayed healthy this spring and pitched well out of the Owls bullpen. He typically throws his fastball in the mid 90s and can touch 97 mph with life that makes it tough to square up. He throws a curveball and a changeup, though neither is a true out pitch. McGarry's powerful right arm brings comparisons to former Owls pitcher R.J. Alvarez, who was drafted in the third round by the Angels in 2012 and reached the big leagues two years later. McGarry will have to prove he can stay healthy to match that level of success, but has the pure stuff to do so.
