Leibrandt's father Charlie pitched parts of 14 seasons in the major leagues, winning 140 games and getting a World Series ring with the Royals in 1985. The father coached the son at Marist in Atlanta as a prep, and Leibrandt had two strong seasons for the Seminoles before a knee injury six weeks into 2014. He was struck by a ball in practice and had a bone bruise that lingered, and never pitched again this season. He threw an intrasquad scrimmage prior to regional play and threw well enough to be available but was not used as the Seminoles were upset in two games. Leibrandt pitches off a below-average 84-88 mph fastball, though he commands the pitch well and can touch 90. He pitches inside and can land his curveball for strikes, and both pitches set up his plus changeup. His feel for pitching makes him a possible top-10-round pick.
