Prigatano was a top-200 prospect out of a Northern California high school in 2011, but he opted to attend Long Beach State, where he has three home runs in three years. He has progressed steadily as a hitter throughout his college career, improving his walk-strikeout mark from 9-45 as a freshman to 13-33 as a sophomore to 32-34 as a junior. He has better balance in the batter's box and has learned to rely on his instincts, rather than overthinking. Prigatano simplified his set-up this spring, lowering his hands and making his barrel more vertical, which has helped him keep his hands inside. He has also done a better job keeping the ball out of the air at spacious Blair Field, though he has just nine extra-base hits through 177 at-bats. Still, scouts can dream on his righthanded power potential thanks to his 6-foot-4, 220-pound frame and his bat speed. He's a solid athlete with fringy to average speed under way, and he's an adequate outfielder with an average arm, though he'll need to refine his reads. He projects best in left field.
