Pitching runs in Sceroler's family; his uncles are Louisiana State legends. One, Ben McDonald, was the 1989 No. 1 overall pick before a nine-year big league career. Another is Brett Laxton, was the winning pitcher for LSU in the championship game of the 1993 World Series, was Freshman of the Year and also pitched in the majors. Sceroler, a 36th-round pick of the Phillies last year, should follow in their footsteps as a pro. Sceroler's fastball is above-average as he'll sit 92-93 mph and touch 95. He's loose and has a very fast arm. He also has an above-average changeup. His curveball is a little fringy, but he has missed enough bats to rank in the top 25 nationally in strikeouts (108 in 97.1 IP) entering regional play.
