Track Record: Denoyer missed most of his time at San Joaquin Delta due to Tommy John surgery, and the Orioles signed him out of the Northwoods League to keep him from an Oklahoma State commitment after the 2019 draft. He was limited by a sore elbow at times in 2022, but struck out 12.4 batters per nine with a 0.93 WHIP in a swingman role High-A Aberdeen and Double-A Bowie.

Scouting Report: In the Orioles' measurements of pitch quality based on movement and command, every one of Denoyer's pitches jumped a full grade this season. His size and over-the-top delivery help his hoppy mid-90s fastball be an above-average offering up in the zone, and help his vertical low-80s curveball play as a plus pitch at times as well. His sweeping slider and cutter each have at least average potential and can be weapons to both sides, and his high-80s splitter gives him a weapon in addition to his curveball to attack lefties with. The pitch mix helped Denoyer achieve a 17.4% swinging strike rate on the season, putting him in elite company in the Orioles' system.

The Future: Denoyer remains in the Orioles' starter program and has the pitch mix to maintain a back-end profile, but roster considerations (the Orioles may need to protect him from the Rule 5 draft this winter) and workload considerations could make him an impact reliever.
