Ethan Hoopingarner

Hoopingarner impressed scouts who ventured out to Aliso Niguel High to see watch teammate Evan Fitterer during the spring. Hoopingarner actually outpitched Fitterer statistically, recording a lower ERA and more strikeouts in fewer innings pitched. Hoopingarner pitches with a fastball in the upper 80s and holds his velocity better than most high schoolers. He has a good feel for his changeup and throws a hard curveball as well. Hoopingarner is a good athlete who was his high school team's best hitter as well as its top pitcher. He is committed to Southern California.
