  Sawyer was expected to be a key member of the Longhorns rotation this year. Instead he barely pitched because of arm soreness, although he was never cut on. Sawyer made one appearance in February, missed a month, returned for four appearances, then missed almost another month before returning in late April. He didn't pitch at all in May. But when he did pitch, he's been excellent, sitting 93-95 mph with a fastball that has excellent downhill plane and a power curve that can garner plus grades. If healthy, Sawyer has the stuff to be at least a lefty reliever, although a team more comfortable with his durability could give him a chance to move back to the rotation.
