Terry Francona, who led the Indians to the AL pennant before Cleveland blew a 3-1 lead to the Cubs in the World Series, was named AL manager of the year Tuesday by the Baseball Writers Association of America.

“I think it’s pretty evident that I love where work and who at work for and with,” Francona told MLB Network.

It is Francona’s second win; he also won in 2013, his first season in Cleveland when he led the Indians to a 92-70 mark and a wild-card berth, although they lost to the Rays in the wild-card game.

Buck Showalter, a three-time winner, finished third in the voting, behind the Rangers’ Jeff Banister.
