NCAA Announces 56-team Division II Field

Late Sunday night, the NCAA Division II Baseball Committee released its full bracket for the 56 teams that will compete in the 2018 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship. Last year’s champion, West Chester, earned a one-seed in the field and the team it conquered, San Diego, received a three-seed in the competition.

The 56 teams will compete in eight different regionals, with two regions each hosting six teams, four regions hosting seven teams, and two regions hosting eight teams. The 22 different conference champions received automatic bids and 34 squads earned at-large bids. The regionals will use a double-elimination format and games will be played from May 17-21. The champions of the eight regions will advance to the double-elimination championship finals held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., from May 26-June 2.
