The Dodgers released 2013 first-round righthander Chris Anderson this spring. He finished last season at high Class A Rancho Cucamonga, where he worked mostly as a reliever, before a disastrous turn in the Arizona Fall League.
The Dodgers signed 28-year-old righthander Jair Jurrjens following his effort for the Netherlands in the World Baseball Classic. He led the Dutch team with 11.1 innings while allowing three runs on 12 hits and recording nine strikeouts. Jurrjens spent time in the Rockies system in 2015 but did not play in 2016.

The Padres released one 2012 supplemental first-rounder last week and signed another. Orlando prep righthander Walker Weickel signed for $2 million and spent most of his time at low Class A Fort Wayne, where he ran up a 5.55 ERA in 183 innings. He played short-season ball last year prior to his release this spring. San Diego signed former Texas prep catcher Steve Bean, whom the Cardinals released after he hit .215 in five pro seasons.

The Nationals re-signed reliever Aaron Barrett to a minor league deal after he misssed last season while recoving from Tommy John surgery. He elected free agency last October following an outright assignment. Barrett pitched effectively in the big league bullpen in 2014 and 2015 before having surgery, and the 29-year-old could work his way back into the big league picture this season.
