Baltimore Orioles
Signed:
C Yojhan Quevedo

Boston Red Sox
Signed:
2B Esteban Quiroz (Yucatan (Mexican))

The Red Sox signed 25-year-old Mexican League veteran Esteban Quiroz, a lefthanded-hitting second baseman coming off a .293/.428/.488 season in 89 games for Yucatan. Quiroz recorded a .402 on-base percentage in seven seasons in the ML and ranked second in the league in OBP (.449) in 2016.

The Red Sox view Quiroz as a quality addition to the organization because he’s an accomplished hitter with defensive versatility. The 5-foot-7 infielder also plays shortstop and third base and has dabbled in the outfield.

Cincinnati Reds
Signed:
LHP Victor Payano

Chicago White Sox
Signed:
1B Matt Skole

With the signing of 28-year-old minor league free agent Matt Skole, the White Sox continue to stockpile first base types. Skole signed with the Nationals out of Georgia Tech as a 2011 fifth-rounder, and he won the MVP award in the low Class A South Atlantic League in 2012.

Chicago previously acquired Casey Gillaspie from the Rays in a July trade for Dan Jennings and also claimed D.J. Peterson on waivers from the Mariners in August. The White Sox then tried to sneak Peterson through waivers in September and lost him to the Reds.

Los Angeles Dodgers
Signed:
RHP Jesen Therrien | OF Travis Taijeron

The Dodgers signed reliever Jesen Therrien to a two-year minor league deal because he will spend 2018 rehabbing from Tommy John surgery he had in September. The 24-year-old Montreal-born righthander made his big league debut with the Phillies after a breakthrough season at Double-A and Triple-A in which he recorded a 1.41 ERA in 39 appearances with 10.2 strikeouts and 1.4 walks per nine innings.

Travis Taijeron has spent the past three seasons at Triple-A Las Vegas in the Mets system as perhaps the True Three Outcomes star of the Pacific Coast League. He hit .272/.383/.525 with 25 home runs this season, and since 2015 has averaged 25 bombs, 74 walks and 169 strikeouts per 140 games in the minors. The 29-year-old right fielder made his big league debut with the Mets this season and started 13 games.
