The Angels won the bidding for 23-year-old Japanese two-way star Shohei Ohtani, sending a $20 million posting fee to Nippon-Ham and as much as $2.315 million in bonus dollars to Ohtani. The club says it is “pleased with the results” of a physical that revealed a first-degree degree sprain of his UCL because the damage is “consistent with players his age.”
