Huntington Beach (Calif.) High takes over the top spot in the Baseball America/Baseball Coaches Association Top 25 rankings for the first time this season, after a week that included beating a talented Orange (Calif.) Lutheran team and also winning the Boras Classic South title. The Oilers have won 11 straight games dating back to April 5, outscoring opponents 72-28 during that stretch.

Huntington Beach is the fourth team to hold the No. 1 spot this season, following Stoneman Douglas (Parkland, Fla.),  Archbishop McCarthy (Southwest Ranches, Fla.) and Buchanan (Clovis, Calif.). Stoneman Douglas fell from No. 1 to No. 25 and then has been out of the Top 25 completely since April 3, while Archbishop McCarthy and Buchanan have continued to be top 10 teams.

Shawnee (Okla.) High has extended its perfect season to 32-0 and jumps into the No. 2 spot, while West Monroe (La.) High enters the Top 5 at No. 4 as the second-best team in the Southern Region.

Moorpark (Calif.) High is the biggest mover this week, going from unranked to the No. 6 spot, as the No. 2 California team in the country. Calvary Christian (Clearwater, Fla.) High jumps the most among teams already in the Top 25, going from No. 17 to No. 5 after finishing the regular season 24-0.

The top 25 teams are selected through a poll of representatives from the Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) and Baseball America. All records are as of April 30.
