High School Top 25: June 1

Deer-Park

Following a loss to Midland Lee in the Texas 6A regional semifinals, Coppell High slid from the top spot in our High School Top 25 all the way to No. 23. Deer Park, still alive in the same semis, is our the new No. 1, in the rankings compiled by a committee of voters from Baseball America and the Baseball Coaches Association.

Near the top of the rankings again is Walton High (Marietta, Ga.). Led by senior shortstop Carter Kieboom, as well as righthander Zac Kristofak and second baseman Parker McCoy, the Raiders won Georgia’s 6A state championship over Pope High (Marietta, Ga.), another powerhouse program that has been in the Top 25 at various points this season.

The records below are as of May 29. In our next ranking, we will expand to 50 teams.
