Best Of The Minors: Most Creative Promotions Team

Akron RubberDucks

The host of this year’s Eastern League all-star game probably had this sewn up when it teased one of this year’s most talked-about promotions: the Willie Mays Hayes bobblelegs doll, which puts a fun twist on Wesley Snipes’ character in “Major League.”

Besides that, the team is also hosting its own Comicon this year, and has scheduled appearances from actors Christopher McDonald and Dina Platias, better known as Shooter McGavin and Miss Lippy from the Adam Sandler comedy “Billy Madison.”

Akron’s promotions are always fresh and inventive, and their peers have recognized them for it.
