Deivi Garcia, RHP, Yankees. Garcia fired three scoreless innings for Triple-A Scranton in the International League North-Division tiebreaker, allowing just one hit and collecting two strikeouts. He came in to start the fourth inning and was able to stabilize their pitching, which had given up six runs across the first three innings. The Yankees’ top prospect was able to pitch to contact efficiently, and ended up watching his team come from behind in the late innings to amass a 14-13 victory, sending Scranton to the Triple-A playoffs.

Malcom Nunez, 3B, Cardinals. The Johnson City Cardinals managed to stave off elimination in the Appalachian League finals thanks to a big hit from the Cardinals’ No. 20 prospect. Nunez was involved early, drawing a walk and coming around to score in the first inning. He also walked in the third inning before smashing a two-run homer in the seventh inning to extend the lead. It was his second clutch hit of the playoffs, as Nunez hit a two-run double against Bristol which ended up sending Johnson City into the Appalachian League finals.

Gosuke Katoh, 1B/LF, Yankees. Katoh played an important role for Triple-A Scranton in their comeback against Syracuse. Katoh got on base three times with a hit and two walks. He also came around to score twice. Katoh is considered a versatile infielder but ended up spending eight innings in left field before moving over to first base to end out the game.
