Sunday’s Stars

With the season ending for everyone but the Cubs, Brewers, Dodgers and Rockies, here’s a look at how the top rookies finished their seasons.

Ronald Acuna, OF, Braves: The Braves outfielder went 1-for-3 with a double in his regular season finale. Acuna finished the year hitting .293/.366/.522 with 26 home runs and 16 stolen bases.

Juan Soto, OF, Nationals. Soto went 0-for-3 in his season ender. Soto hit .292/.406/.517 for the Nationals with 22 home runs. Soto’s .406 on-base percentage and 79 walks were the most ever by a teenager.

Walker Buehler, RHP, Dodgers. Buehler’s season isn’t over, as he’ll start the tiebreaker game against the Rockies. Buehler is currently 7-5, 2.76 with 148 strikeouts in 130.2 innings.

Dereck Rodriguez, RHP, Giants. Rodriguez made his final start on Saturday as he allowed five runs and six hits in three innings. He finished his season 6-4, 2.81 with 89 strikeouts in 118.1 innings.

Harrison Bader, OF, Cardinals. Bader went 1-for-4 on Sunday. He finished his season hitting .264/.332/.422 with 12 home runs and 15 stolen bases.

Shohei Ohtani, DH, Angels. Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a single on Sunday. He finished his season hitting .285/.361/.564 with 22 home runs and 10 stolen bases. He also went 4-2, 3.31 with 63 strikeouts in 51.2 innings before he was shut down as a pitcher because of an elbow injury.

Miguel Andujar, DH, Yankees. Andujar went 1-for-4 with his 47th double of the season on Sunday. Andujar hit .297/.328/.527 with 27 home runs.

Gleyber Torres, 2B, Yankees. Torres went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts on Sunday. Torres hit .271/.340/.480 with 24 home runs.

Joey Wendle, 3B, Rays. Wendle went 1-for-3 Sunday. He hit .300/.354/.435 with 33 doubles, 7 home runs and 16 stolen bases.

Luke Voit, 1B, Yankees. Voit hit his 14th home run in just his 39th game for the Yankees. Voit finished the season hitting .333/.405/.689.
