Austin Cox, LHP, Royals. Cox tossed seven scoreless innings for low Class A Lexington. The lefthander worked around three hits while collecting eight strikeouts without allowing a walk. Not allowing any walks is the key stat here, as it was a massive bounceback performance for the Royals’ No. 16 prospect. Cox had allowed 12 runs in 15 innings across his three prior starts thanks to 10 walks.

Cal Raleigh, DH, Mariners. Seattle’s No. 11 prospect had his second multi-homer game of his career for high Class A Modesto. Raleigh hit a two-run bomb in the first inning, followed immediately by a three-run shot in the second inning. Power is certainly his calling card, although Raleigh has the skillset to be a quality backstop with an above-average arm. While his slash line isn’t great through his first 30 games of full season pro ball, Raleigh has already hit seven home runs, just one shy of his total through 38 games with short season Everett in 2018.

Corey Ray, OF, Brewers. Ray had a tough go of it to start the season, as the Brewers’ No. 3 prospect was dealing with a hand injury. He has since broken out in a big way, blasting home runs in three straight games for Triple-A San Antonio. Ray had three hits and a fell a triple short of the cycle. Ray went 13 straight games without collecting an RBI for Triple-A San Antonio before driving in seven runs across his last three games.

Evan White, 1B, Mariners. White had three hits in five at-bats for Double-A Arkansas. The first baseman hit a home run to left field in the first inning, followed by a single to left field and a single to right field to end out his night. The Mariners’ No. 4 prospect is now batting .282/.350/.423 with six extra-base hits in 71 at-bats. White had a rough start to his season, striking out 11 times in 41 at-bats with just three extra-base hits in the month of April.

Leody Taveras, OF, Rangers. Taveras had a three-hit game for high Class A Down East, scoring three times while driving in two runs in the second game played on Sunday. The rightfielder hit a two-run home run in the first inning to open the scoring. The Rangers’ No. 3 prospect is having a better time in his second go-around in the Carolina League, batting a .326/.377/.435 with nine extra-base hits in 138 at-bats. While he struck out 32 times in 25 games during April, Taveras is managing the strike zone much better in the month of May, striking out just three times in 10 games thus far.
