2019 Organization Standings And League Champions

The future continues to look bright in Tampa Bay.

The Rays posted their second straight 90-win season and reached the playoffs this year, all while also possessing the No. 1 farm system in baseball. To top it off, the Rays domestic minor league affiliates posted the best overall record of any organization for the second straight year.

Rays' domestic affiliates went a combined 428-319 for a .573 winning percentage this season, coming in comfortably ahead of the second-place Dodgers (.562) and third-place Rangers (.559). The Rays saw four of their seven affiliates reach the postseason, including their top two affiliates at Triple-A Durham and Double-A Montgomery. Their third-highest affiliate, high Class A Charlotte, posted the best record in the Florida State League, but the FSL playoffs were cancelled due to Hurricane Dorian.

The 2019 organization standings include only domestic affiliates. If you include Dominican Summer League affiliates, the Rangers would have the best organizational record at 467-357 (.567).

The table below spells out the complete domestic organization standings, with the playoff column indicating the number of playoff teams per organization.

Curtis Terry Becomes A More Complete Player

The fifth-year pro busted out in full-season ball to win the Rangers' minor league player of the year award.

Hurricane Dorian also cancelled the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League playoffs in addition to the FSL playoffs.

In addition to their three domestic minor league champions, the Royals also won the Dominican Summer League title to give them four total champions.

The Dodgers and Giants tied for most domestic affiliates to make the minor league playoffs with five each. It's an especially stark turnaround for the Giants, who didn't have any affiliates reach the postseason last year.

• The Angels were shut out of the minor league playoffs for the second straight year, the only team to have all of their affiliates miss the postseason two years in a row. The Blue Jays, White Sox and Tigers also went without playoff teams this year, the second year in a row four teams had none of their affiliates reach the postseason.
