2017 State Draft Report: Kentucky

CROP RATING
updated_state_rating_five_star One for the books
Rating compares this year’s group to what a state typically produces, not to other states

Louisville had seven players picked in the top four rounds last year including a trio of first-round picks. It’s hard for any state to match that kind of draft production, but thanks to the rise of Kentucky and the continual success of Louisville, the state of Kentucky will see similar draft representation this year with three likely first-round picks.

It’s worth noting that high school righthander Joe Boyle officially removed himself from the draft and can not be selected. Boyle has signed to attend and play for Notre Dame. If he had remained draft eligible, he would have been a premium draft prospect.
