2016 New Balance All-Area Code Team

This year’s Area Code Games, an event that began in 1986, showcased solid talent in the draft class of 2017. Some of the more well-known prospects bolstered their stocks, a handful put themselves on the radar and several players showed improvement from their performances earlier in the summer. The All-Area Code Games team honors the players at each position who stood out in Long Beach, Calif., with strong performances and strong tools. This year’s group of outfielders was particularly strong, forcing some very strong players off the team. Many intriguing pitching prospects did not make the team because their performances didn’t quite match the tools and future projections they established earlier in the summer.(Photos By Bill Mitchell)
