Miami Marlins Top 30

By Kegan Lowe

Are sunnier days soon to come for the Marlins?

While the big league club has won just 120 games over the last two seasons—and hasn't logged a winning season since 2009—Miami's farm system is seeing a talent surge that stands in stark contrast to its overall depth for the better part of the decade.

Miami ended 2019 ranked among baseball's 10 best farm systems after beginning the season 13th. The Marlins never ranked higher than 24th in any of the previous five seasons. The reason for their sudden rise? Timely acquisitions—five of their 10 best prospects, including the top three, entered the system in 2019—and bounce-back seasons for several arms.

Some of Miami's most prominent names come with considerable risk, but it's easy to envision a new wave of young talent arriving in the big leagues by the end of 2021.
