Givin's older brother Cris plays at Xavier, and the two were expected to be reunited at college unless a team pops the younger Givin in this year's draft. Givin has a good pitcher's frame and has room to grow at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds. He also has polish to add as he's focused more on hitting and shortstop than pitching. His arm action isn't pretty and may hinder his projection, but he's reached the low 90s with his fastball and shown plus potential with a hard curveball in the low 80s.
