Crohan was in the mid-80s with his velocity in high school but has filled out his 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame since then. He was a breakout prospect in 2015, going 7-4, 3.05 with 87 strikeouts in 77 innings for Winthrop and earning a spot on USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team. His fastball has touched 97 mph, though it more typically settles in at 91-93 when he's at his best, plenty of velocity for a lefthander. His slider can be thrown with power in the low-to-mid 80s, and his changeup at times is too firm. Crohan made just three starts this spring (with a 21-1 strikeout-walk ratio) before missing the rest of the spring with elbow tendinitis. He received a medical redshirt and is a real wild card depending on signability for the 2016 draft.
