Track Record: Originally a 35th-round pick of the Brewers in 2017, Bradshaw chose not to sign and instead went to Meridian (Miss.) JC for one year. After slashing .422/.523/.718 with more walks (29) than strikeouts (23) in his one season at Meridian, Bradshaw was drafted by the Marlins in the 11th round and signed for $125,000 in 2018.
Scouting Report: Bradshaw is a plus-plus runner, and his speed allowed him to play all three outfield spots and steal 20 bases in 25 attempts during his 46-game pro debut. Defensively, he's probably best suited for center field in the future, given his speed, average arm strength, and lack of a true power profile, although his versatility gives him the floor of a fourth outfielder. A lefthanded hitter, Bradshaw has a short, compact swing and made consistent contact in 2018, striking out in less than 15 percent of his plate appearances. Bradshaw's power is the least developed of his five tools, and he will need to continue to fill out his 6-foot-3 frame in order to reach average power in the future.
The Future: Bradshaw should begin 2019 in low Class A Clinton, where he'll share an outfield with Marlins' 2018 first-round pick Connor Scott. Even if Scott's presence pushes Bradshaw to left field, it'll be his plus-plus speed and potential above-average hit tool that keeps him on the prospect radar, despite a current lack of power.
