If scouts were convicted about Lowery's ability to stick behind the plate, he would be a much more coveted prospect. His best tool is his power, which grades as a plus-plus tool. Lowery has the ability to drive the ball out of the park from foul pole to foul pole and he hit 12 home runs this season. There are questions about how much he will hit, which makes scouts uncertain as to how much Lowery's power will be able to play. Lowery's strike zone discipline and approach took significant steps forward in his junior season, but he still struck out in over a quarter of his at-bats. Lowery is a serviceable athlete, but his massive 6-foot-2, 240-pound body causes scouts to doubt his ability to catch at the pro level. Still, Lowery has an above-average arm, and profiles well as a corner outfielder. Those who like him see a player with explosive tools that is trending in the right direction.
