Scouts are ready for Heineman to sign as he was a high school star at Crespi Carmelite High in Encino, Calif., and has had an injury-plagued college career that includes a left foot injury that limited him to 34 games as a freshman and shoulder surgery that led to a medical redshirt in 2014. The shoulder injury has pushed him to playing primarily first base in 2015, and he profiles as a utility player as a pro, capable of third base or the outfield corners, as he still has a plus arm. He's a high-energy player who has calmed his hyper-aggressive approach at the plate. While there's some length to his swing, Heineman has bat speed and solid-average running speed. His older brother Tyler is a catcher in the Astros system who was an eighth-round pick in 2012; Scott could go in the same round range.
