Rusconi was one of the best position players in Southern California this spring, mashing 11 home runs (with 47 for his career) and winning a home run derby at the National Classic in Anaheim in April. The 6-foot, 180-pounder is old for the class, turning 19 in mid-July, but he's more advanced than many of his peers and profiles as an offensive second baseman. A switch-hitter with some juice from both sides of the plate, Rusconi has more of a line-drive approach from the left side and more of an uppercut from the right side. He's an offensive player who is likely to shift to second base if not the outfield. He's an above-average runner with solid-average arm strength. Rusconi could go out as early as the fourth round, though a spring commitment to Southern California may have clouded his signability.
