Cyr began his college career at Skyline (Calif.) CC, transferring to Embry-Riddle (Fla.) for his sophomore year. He broke out this spring as he stepped into the starting rotation and helped the Eagles to a third-place finish at the NAIA World Series. Listed at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, Cyr has a good pitcher's build that helps him throw his fastball in the low to mid 90s. He mixes in a changeup and a slider, and struck out 98 batters in 86 innings this spring. His control needs further refinement, however, after he issued 50 walks.
