German has an imposing build at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds of pure muscle, and he was a talented tight end in football, but he prefers baseball. A two-way player in high school, German profiles better on the mound. As a multi-sport athlete who has played both ways and hasn't done a lot of travel ball or showcase events, he is still raw on the mound but offers lots of upside. Even with his build, he has natural looseness to his delivery. His fastball velocity improved this spring and he was 90-93 mph late in the season. It's easy for scouts to envision mid-90s velocity down the road. While he's still learning how to pitch, German already shows feel for spinning a curveball and mixes in an occasional changeup. German is committed to Nevada but could get signed away from college by a team that believes in his projection.
