Division I football programs made scholarship offers to DeLuzio, an accomplished safety and wide receiver, but he committed to Florida State for baseball only. His sister Alexa played basketball for the Seminoles. A 6-foot-2, 185-pound prep shortstop, DeLuzio is raw on the diamond due to his football experience, but his athleticism stood out in Florida's prep ranks and should allow him to make quick improvement. His well above-average speed attracts the most attention. Scouts consider his infield actions and arm strength inadequate for shortstop in pro ball, and most see him as a future center fielder. He may have a shot at shortstop in college but likely would start off at second base. He plays with energy and shows raw power at the plate, though not much feel for hitting at this point. DeLuzio mostly needs repetition and playing time. His athleticism might prompt a club to jump on him in the first five rounds.
