Keyes was a 17th round pick of the Blue Jays in 2016, but Canadian preps can be eligible twice coming out of high school and Keyes chose not to sign as a 17-year-old. He's age-appropriate for the 2017 class and played for the Canadian Junior National team this spring. Keyes squared up minor league pitching when the Canadians faced professionals on their spring training trip, showing the ability to catch up to average fastballs and drive the ball with authority to the gaps. Keyes hasn't come into much over-the-fence power yet but has the ability to create torque with average bat speed and wide shoulders and hips. He profiles in left field defensively with his below-average arm and speed. He is committed to Washington State, but a team could take a gamble on his offensive upside and try to coach up his other tools.
