Drafted in the 2nd round (59th overall) by the Minnesota Twins in 2020 (signed for $900,000)
A 29th-round pick of the Cardinals in 2018 out of San Jacinto (Texas) JC, Soularie instead transferred to Tennesse and immediately became one of the Volunteers' best hitters as a sophomore. He led full-time starters in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage (.357/.466/.602), but he wasn’t as sharp the following summer in the Cape Cod League (.207/.303/.345) and his brief junior year was an up-and-down affair. He led the Vols with five home runs, but he also ranked last among the team’s regulars with a .267 batting average. Soularie is more of a well-rounded prospect than one with any particularly loud tools. He’s an average hitter with average power. He can catch up to almost any fastball, but he sometimes can get caught guessing. Soularie has tried second base and center field, but he’s likely an average left fielder in pro ball.
